Dr.J (aka Jay Hanes) teaches Art Education at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He and his collaborators, cameraman John Chrisman (also a faculty member of the Art Department at EUP) and son Hawk Weisman (TFOL) attend Brickworld in Chicago, IL in June 2008 to film this documentary.
Love of the Brick documents interviews with adult and teen fans of LEGO� at Brickworld 2008 in Chicago. The film captures images of the marvels constructed by these LEGO� users and exhibited at Brickworld. It provides insights into the creativity inspired by the LEGO� brick and a view of an internet-connected community. This supportive community can inspire a wide audience, including educators and students, with the power of engaged construction, innovation, creativity, design, and peer critique. Humor underlies the serious play built on the love of the brick.
